Activities presentation
Monday-16th January 2023
The first activity was ,,The Energy and the Environment’’. The students created a tree of ideas starting from the word "energy". Through this activity, the students identified the main sources of energy. Then there was a presentation of energy sources (renewable and non-renewable) and each country team presented one energy source, arguing the advantages and disadvantages of each. The evaluation of the activities of the first day was carried out through 2 crossword and word search exercises.
The day ended with 2 informal meetings with the district governor and the educational district governor.
Tuesday-17th January 2023
The second day started with an interactive presentation on the topic of "Energy conservation-a step towards a sustainable development". The students worked in international groups. Each group had the task to discover ways of saving electrical, thermal and mechanical energy in different fields (during heating and when preparing dishes, when heating water and at lighting, when using household appliances and in transport. At the end an activity tour was organized, each team's spoke person presented his/her group's ideas of energy saving and the other students could add new ideas if they had. The activity was evaluated through a test for energy conservation at home.
The coordinator the teacher informed the students about how much energy is consumed by the electrical devices in a house. Then a school energy audit was made. As a follow up activity, the students have to do the energetic passport of their house with

The last activity of the second day was a study case to Guris wind farm plant. The students had the opportunity to learn how wind energy is produced and accumulated.
Wednesday-19th January 2023
The day started with the activity " Green energy". We started with a brainstorming about green energy, then they watched some video fragments and discussed based on the videos the causes of the observed effects. Working in international groups they studied the definition of "Green Energy" from a given text. The students, together with the teachers, draw up a list of "green energy" sources. Then the students to an online research of green organizations in their countries. At the end of the activity, an experiment about thermal insulation was organized.
In the afternoon a research at Expo 2021 was made. The students acquired information about the impact of climate change on the environment.
Thursday-19th January 2023
The day started with the activity " A Circular Economy for Smartphones and Electronic Devices". The students learned about the impact of smartphones and other electronic devices on the environment and how to create a circular economy for ICT appliances. The students also created a newsletter with the title ,,Energy Saving''.
The students were informed by an electrical engineer from Atlas Energy about the process of how energy is generated from coal and compared the traditional sources of energy with renewable ones. Then, the students made a tour of the Atlas Energy power plant, guided by the plant's experts.
The day ended with an interactive seminar at Iskenderun Teknik University. Professor dr. Suha Orkun MERT from the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering made a presentation on the topic "Energy, efficiency and saving". Then, he discussed with the students about the difference between energy saving and energy efficiency.
Friday-20th January 2023
The last day started with the revision and consolidation of the information acquired during the activities carried out this week. The most important information obtained was used in the creation of a brochure. The students carried out a campaign with the theme "STOP WASTING ENERGY" by writing a letter and distributing it online.
The hosting school organized students' final evaluation.
After the evaluation, the certificates of participation were given and then the students and teachers share their thoughts about this LTT (testimonials).
